Project Engineer - Construction

Job Summary

The Project Engineer supports the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. Working closely with the Construction Manager, the Project Engineer helps ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract documents, quality standards, and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with project planning, scheduling, and coordination of construction activities.
  • Review and distribute construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Track and manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation.
  • Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, contractors, suppliers, and field personnel.
  • Monitor project progress and identify potential schedule or budget impacts.
  • Participate in project meetings and prepare meeting agendas and minutes.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules and cost tracking reports.
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, project specifications, and company standards.
  • Support procurement of materials and equipment and coordinate deliveries.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with safety requirements.
  • Assist with quality control inspections and resolution of construction issues.
  • Prepare project reports, closeout documentation, as-built drawings, and operation and maintenance manuals.
  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment in accordance with OSHA and company safety policies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field.
  • 2โ€“5 years of construction experience preferred.
  • Experience with FF&E coordination, inventory; including procurement tracking, vendor management, delivery logistics, and installation.
  • Working knowledge of construction methods, building systems, and contract documents.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software (e.g., Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam).
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required.
  • Understanding construction scheduling, budgeting, and project controls.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation practices.
  • Effective interpersonal and team collaboration skills.
