Project Engineer โ€“ Newark AirTrain Project

Expected Salary range: $125,000 to $175,000 depending upon experience.

Note: No staffing agency candidates will be considered. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Job Description
  • Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with daily project administration and project controls.
  • Manage submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, change orders, and document control processes.
  • Coordinate with owners, engineers, designers, inspectors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Track project costs, quantities, productivity, and schedule performance.
  • Support procurement activities, including material tracking and subcontract administration.
  • Prepare and maintain project logs, reports, meeting minutes, and correspondence.
  • Review contract documents, specifications, and drawings to identify risks and ensure compliance.
  • Assist in developing construction work plans, sequencing, and logistical plans.
  • Participate in project scheduling efforts utilizing Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
  • Support field operations through coordination of inspections, testing, surveys, and quality control activities.
  • Monitor project progress and help identify solutions to schedule or cost impacts.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety programs, siteโ€‘specific safety requirements, and client standards.
  • Assist with project closeout activities, including punch lists, asโ€‘built documentation, and final turnover packages.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed to support project and business objectives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 8 or more years of heavy civil construction experience.
  • Experience on airport, AirTrain, rail, transit, bridge, roadway, or other transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Experience working on publicโ€‘sector projects and familiarity with agency clients such as Port Authority, MTA, DOT, FAA, or similar transportation authorities.
  • Working knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and project controls.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Understanding of cost tracking, quantity reporting, and schedule management.
  • Knowledge of Primavera 6, Procore, Bluebeam, MS Office, AutoCAD, BIM/VDC Software.
  • Experience with utility relocations, foundations, concrete, structural steel, guideways, stations, transportation systems, or transit facilities.
  • Experience with maintaining operations during construction and phased construction programs.
  • Ability to work effectively in both office and field settings.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
