Job description

We are looking for an experienced Construction Project Engineer to assist in building a wide range of construction projects from start to finish. You will organize and oversee construction procedures and ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner. An excellent Construction Project Engineer must be well-versed in all construction methodologies and procedures and able to coordinate a team of professionals of different disciplines to achieve the best results. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mind, great organizational skills, and strong experience in managing federal construction projects. The goal will be to ensure all projects are delivered on time according to requirements and without exceeding budget.

Responsibilities
โ€ข Document control (RFIs, submittals, change orders, claims, etc.)
โ€ข Performs and applies quantity takeoffs and surveys to manage contract progress, reporting, and change management.
โ€ข Maintains contract with more complex subcontracted scopes and subcontract administration, including defining work scope, answering inquiries, and monitoring progress.
โ€ข Reviews and understands broader contract obligations as per the responsible project and work scopes. Assists site manager in project start-up activities.
โ€ข Participates in reviews of subcontractorsโ€™ submittals for compliance with scope, design documentation, and coordination with other disciplines against the design documentation prior to forwarding to the design team for their review.
โ€ข Procurement of construction materials
โ€ข Ability to identify potential risks on project scopes and/or the project.
โ€ข Other duties as required.
Qualifications
ยท Associates or Bachelorโ€™s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture preferred, or equivalent experience.
ยท 4โ€“6 years of construction experience in an operational role preferred.
ยท Detailed knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawings and specifications, project health, safety, and environment (HSE), quality, building materials, and required standards as per subject area.
ยท Ability to apply basic engineering/problem-solving principles to construction challenges.
ยท Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
ยท Proven flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
ยท Planning, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize own work, and direct-report tasks.
ยท Able to create and lead schedules a comprehensive scale. (P6 a plus)
ยท Ability to formulate subcontracts and administer subcontracts and contract documents. (CMIC a plus)
ยท Proven understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and internal operational systems with a strong skills for embracing new technology.
