PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Primarily responsible for assisting with related accounting procedures and reporting for the Company and all managed properties, as applicable. Assist with the preparation of reconciliations, generating reporting for the Company and all managed properties. This role has growth and potential that can evolve and grow to support a long career.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Position Location: In the corporate office located in Lincoln, Nebraska

  • Oversee end-to-end invoice processing, electronic payments and check disbursements.
  • Handle escalated vendor discrepancies, past-due issues and statement reconciliations.
  • Assist with accruals and ledger reconciliations.
  • Produce and monitor monthly cost comparisons to budget.
  • Assist with tenant payments and ledger reconciliations.
  • Assist in preparing bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries.
  • Assist with intercompany payables and receivables.
  • Respond to and provide solutions to special projects created by yourself or as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer or Controller and collaborate with the team to achieve business results.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


DIRECT SUPERVISER:

This position reports to the Corporate Controller and will work alongside other accountants and office administrators.


EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor of Science/Art in Accounting and a minimum of 2 years of strong accounting and finance experience or progressive advancement in accounting roles
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and help implement strategy from a finance perspective.
  • Working knowledge of real estate related contracts, construction accounting, and transaction procedures common in the industry
  • Personal traits of a high-level commitment, motivation, energy, team orientation, professionalism, trust, personal honesty and integrity, and a demonstration of placing others in a place of high value.
  • Ability to communicate professionally in various forms with customers, associates and the general public, and ability to contribute to a strong team culture.
