Job description

The Project Manager is responsible for the oversight of multiple commercial glass installations of various sizes. The person in this role directly impacts the company's success by maximizing efficiencies in labor, materials expenses and deliveries, and timelines to maximize profit. Serving multiple internal and external stakeholders throughout the company and on job sites of various types, the highly functioning Project Manager should have knowledge of estimating and project management to accurately forecast project outcomes and manage variables. Knowledge of the of the construction industry and versed in glazing products and processes is desirable. The individual needs to be adept at tracking projects of various sizes and scopes, and at various stages of the project cycle.
Essential Functions
  • Accurately forecast costs based on estimates, architectural plans, and technical drawings, to maximize volume and profitability
  • Track and manage labor, material, and scheduling for commercial glass installations of all sizes, to ensure projects are within required budgets and timelines
  • Execute work with flexibility and foresight, as necessary to adjust for change requests, as well as changes in labor, material, and schedules
  • Maintain complete job files, both physical and digital
  • Accurately bid, bill, and document change orders
  • Maintain an accurate accounting of all projects, to communicate current and forecasted outcomes specific to each assigned project
  • Work collaboratively with all stakeholders, including executive leadership, installation teams, and clients to ensure the highest quality of product and installation
  • Establish and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and other contractors
  • Acquire and maintain updated skills specific to the field of Glazier Project Management, especially as pertains to products & installation methods, code requirements, advances in technology, best practices, and material pricing & availability
  • Maintain accurate and timely billings; collaborate with the Controller to manage accounting portion of jobs
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients to facilitate open communication, build rapport, and assist in garnering future business

Minimum Required Education and Experience
  1. Associate's Degree in Construction/Estimating/ Project Management, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience
  2. Two years of work experience in a similar function

Preferred Education and Experience
  1. Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction/Estimating/ Project Management, or equivalent
  2. Project Management experience specific to Exterior Construction Finishes, especially Glazing

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no direct reports but is responsible to the client for the work of others. Effective communication with various stakeholders and maintaining a balanced approach to opposing viewpoints is necessary in a supervisory capacity as necessary to manage projects.
Work Environment
This job operates in office environments, closed commercial construction sites, active commercial businesses, as well manufacturing production and warehouse environments.
