Position: Project Accountant

Reports To: Controller

Job Summary:

Performs various functions in the accounting department including but not limited to duties listed below. This is a salary exempt position.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Reconcile monthly bank statements for multiple entities with multiple accounts.
  • Prepare adjusting entries for the general ledger.
  • Review and enter owner change orders for all projects.
  • Input and maintain budget estimates into the accounting system.
  • Update project specific budget tracking documents for project managers.
  • Prepare invoices for submission to project owner.
  • Assist gathering information to complete monthly payment applications.
  • Manage subcontractor lien waivers for assigned projects.
  • Enter payables for assigned projects into the accounting system.
  • Transfer project costs in the system as needed.

Qualifications/Educational Requirements:

  • Ability to sustain a high level of energy and be passionate about the work.
  • Ability to establish goals and priorities: perceive and analyze situations requiring attention and perform duties in a timely manner, often under pressure.
  • Manage a variety of priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to develop relationships with a variety of clients in a diverse range of industries.
  • Strong verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to use judgment and discretion; to keep confidentiality; to exercise tact and diplomacy.
  • Construction background and familiarity with construction draws a plus.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Experience working within a fast paced accounting department.
  • Proficient in Excel and Word. Experience with ComputerEase a plus.
