Position: Assistant Program Manager (APM)

Position Summary: The Fort Bragg Assistant Program Manager (APM) serves as the principal assistant to the ARSOF Program Manager and supports the successful execution of all requirements under the ARSOF contract and other Fort Bragg, NC contract requirements as directed by the 7th Dimension LLC, Director of Operations. The APM assists in planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and monitoring contractor operations supporting the ARSOF mission and other Fort Bragg, NC training events, exercises, and operational requirements. 

The APM provides day-to-day operational oversight, workforce management, schedule integration, quality assurance, risk management, and customer engagement to ensure mission accomplishment. The APM acts on behalf of the Program Manager in their absence and maintains continuous coordination with Government representatives, site managers, field supervisors, and support personnel to ensure contract compliance and operational excellence. 

Duties and Responsibilities:   

Program Execution 

• Assist the Program Manager in the overall management and execution of ARSOF and other Fort Bragg, NC requirements. 

• Coordinate internal operations across training support, role-player management, logistics, maintenance, and exercise support functions. 

• Monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS), Quality Control Plan (QCP), and contract deliverables. 

• Assist in developing and implementing operational policies, procedures, and best practices that improve efficiency and mission effectiveness. 

• Serve as Acting Program Manager during periods of PM absence. 

Government Relations 

• Maintain effective working relationships with the Contracting Officer (KO), Contracting Officer Representative (COR), Alternate CORs (ACORs), and Government training leadership. 

• Attend planning meetings, In-Progress Reviews (IPRs), operational synchronization meetings, and After-Action Reviews (AARs). 

• Provide accurate and timely reports, briefings, and recommendations regarding contract performance, staffing, and operational requirements. 

• Support resolution of Government concerns, deficiencies, and corrective actions. 

Personnel Management 

• Assist with supervision of key personnel, Site Managers, Area Managers, Lane Managers, Exercise Support Cell personnel, Logistics Specialists, Weapons Specialists, Role Player Supervisors, Instructors, and administrative staff. 

• Coordinate recruiting, onboarding, training, scheduling, and retention activities for contract personnel. 

• Ensure staffing requirements are met for all exercises and training events. 

• Promote employee accountability, safety, professionalism, and compliance with contract requirements. 

Operational Planning and Training Support 

• Support development and synchronization of training support plans for ARSOF programs and other Fort Bragg, NC exercises and operational requirements. 

• Assist Government personnel in future exercise planning, resource forecasting, and support integration. 

• Coordinate exercise support requirements, staffing plans, transportation needs, equipment accountability, and logistical support. 

• Monitor execution of training activities conducted at assigned locations and designated training or operational areas. 

Quality Assurance and Compliance 

• Assist in maintaining the Contractor Quality Control Program and associated performance metrics. 

• Review contract performance against established standards and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. 

• Ensure compliance with all safety, security, operational, and regulatory requirements. 

• Support preparation and submission of required deliverables, personnel rosters, manpower reports, security documentation, and quality control reports. 

Security and Risk Management 

• Ensure personnel maintain required security clearances, certifications, credentials, and training. 

• Support compliance with DISS, OPSEC, Information Assurance, CAC accountability, and security reporting requirements. 

• Monitor operational risks and implement mitigation measures to ensure mission success and personnel safety. 

• Coordinate responses to operational incidents, personnel issues, and emergency situations. 

Financial and Resource Management 

• Assist the Program Manager in monitoring labor utilization, staffing levels, resource allocation, and program budgets. 

• Support forecasting of personnel requirements and operational costs. 

• Assist with property accountability, asset management, and Government-furnished equipment tracking. 

Key Leadership Expectations 

• The Assistant Program Manager shall demonstrate initiative, adaptability, professionalism, integrity, and mission focus while ensuring the successful execution of all assigned ARSOF and other designated Fort Bragg, NC requirements. The APM shall foster a collaborative relationship with Government stakeholders and contractor personnel while maintaining the highest standards of performance, accountability, and customer service. 

Required Qualifications:   

• US Citizen 

• Valid U.S. driver's license 

• Must hold an active Security Clearance 

• Ability to obtain and maintain all installation access requirements. 

• Ability to obtain and maintain required DoD network access, CAC credentials, and applicable training certifications. 

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Management, Operations, Logistics, Military Science, or a related field. 

• Substitution: Fifteen (15) years of Special Operations Forces, military leadership, or directly related experience may be substituted for formal education. 

• Minimum of ten (10) years of military, government, or contractor management experience supporting Department of Defense programs. 

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience managing personnel, operations, or training support activities within a Special Operations, military training, or comparable operational environment. 

• Experience supporting large-scale training exercises, field operations, logistics coordination, or workforce management. 

• Demonstrated experience coordinating with Government customers and senior leadership. 

• Strong leadership and organizational skills. 

• Ability to manage multiple simultaneous training events and geographically dispersed personnel. 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. 

• Working knowledge of DoD contracting principles, ARSOF operations and other Fort Bragg, NC training support, logistics management, and workforce scheduling. 

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and contract management systems. 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Former Special Forces, Civil Affairs, Psychological Operations, or other USSOCOM service experience. 

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. 

• Experience supporting USAJFKSWCS, USASOC, ARSOF, or comparable Fort Bragg and SOF operational and training environments. 

• Experience with contract administration, quality assurance programs, and government performance reporting systems. 

Physical Requirements 

• Ability to work in both office and field environments. 

• Ability to travel throughout assigned training and operational locations. 

• Ability to perform duties during extended training events, including evenings, weekends, and adverse weather conditions when required. 

• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and traverse uneven terrain. 

Physical Demands and Work Environment: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk, listen, and write. The employee frequently is required to use foot/ankle motions, hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is required to stand, walk, sit; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
