Opportunity

PsyPhyCare, a division of Business Staffing of America, Inc., is seeking a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC), Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC), or other qualified substance abuse professional meeting state requirements to provide on-site substance abuse prevention, education, and counseling services within a federally supported residential youth program in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Our client operates a comprehensive residential program serving young adults, ages 1624. The program's mission is to prepare participants for meaningful employment and independent living through education, career development, healthcare, and supportive services.

This role provides direct substance abuse prevention and intervention services while collaborating closely with residential and program staff in a structured, community-based environment.

Position Overview

This is a contract position with part-time availability, up to 20 hours per week.

  • Schedule: MondayFriday
  • Hours: Flexible based on program needs
  • No weekends required
  • Location: On-site in Pittsburgh, PA (no telehealth or remote option)

Scheduling flexibility is available to support student engagement and program needs, including occasional presence during afternoon or early evening hours.

Key Responsibilities

The counselor will provide comprehensive on-site substance abuse prevention and counseling services while maintaining an active presence throughout the residential campus.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting substance use assessments and screenings
  • Providing individual and group substance abuse counseling
  • Developing and facilitating alcohol, tobacco, and other drug prevention education programs
  • Creating individualized treatment and intervention plans
  • Engaging with students in residential and common areas (dormitories, recreation areas, dining facilities, counseling spaces)
  • Collaborating with medical providers, mental health professionals, residential staff, and program leadership
  • Supporting crisis intervention and student wellness initiatives as needed
  • Maintaining accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation
  • Upholding all professional, ethical, and confidentiality standards
Qualifications Licensure/Certification

Candidates must meet Pennsylvania requirements for providing substance abuse counseling and possess one of the following:

  • Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC)
  • Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC)
  • Or another credential meeting the program's substance abuse counseling requirements
Experience
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience providing substance abuse counseling or prevention services preferred
  • Experience working with adolescents or young adults is preferred
  • Strong counseling, documentation, and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
