RESPONSIBILITIES

YWCA's PowerUP small business training programs support new and existing women entrepreneurs with one-on-one coaching, self-employment exploration, business plan training and digital adoption.

The Network Coordinator, PowerUP develops, coordinates, supports and promotes the YWCA PowerUP program. The position provides support in the day-to-day operations of the entrepreneurship program to ensure the successful implementation of its major goals and objectives across all project partner YWCAs. This position provides the logistics for all program internal and external workshop and training events. The ideal candidate has significant experience in building communities, organizing community engagement programs, and working cross-functionally to ensure all network activities reflect the needs of our program participants and partners.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: ย 

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Plan, coordinate and provide project support to partner YWCAs through the execution of project plans with clear timelines, and cross-functional collaboration to the YWCA Hamilton team to successfully delivers on stated outcomes and expected deliverables;

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Plan, coordinate and host high-impact networking events and meet-ups for women entrepreneurs, including national events with partner YWCAs;

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Attend networking events and meetings in the community, including trade shows, to make connections and promote the PowerUP events and initiatives;

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Facilitates community outreach, intake and recruitment for PowerUP Network programming;

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Serve as a resource in the recruitment of new entrepreneurs and managing communication with current and former entrepreneurs;

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Delivers Information Sessions for the PowerUP Ready Program;

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Promotes and markets the PowerUP program, working with the YWCA Communications department;

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Adapts existing program materials to create French language resources or entrepreneurs;

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Submit program expenses, ensuring each program component meets budget parameters outlined in the collaboration agreement;

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Provide regular updates to YWCA Hamilton and team members regarding spending and budget status;

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Collects testimonials from clients that have experienced PowerUP Programs and activities and share with project lead;

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Adheres to appropriate systems to ensure monitoring of projects and initiatives in compliance with work schedules, outcomes and participant requirements;

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Increase knowledge on self-employment resources in the ecosystem in order to create these contacts to promote the programs and initiatives of the Center of Innovation (COI);

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Create an ongoing calendar of the COI's activities and program events so we can plan and implement the necessary steps with marketing etc.ย  Then a step by step plan on how the events will be implemented in an action plan;

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Assist in the coordination of the Pop-up events that PowerUP Ready clients attend;

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Coordinate with Marketing, social media blurbs and posts for each cohort of the PowerUP Programs and ensure the marketing collateral is up to date, including the YWCA Hamilton Website;

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Works safely, reports all workplace hazards and follows all YWCA Hamilton Health and Safety policies and procedures;

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Nurtures and forms meaningful internal and external working relationships and partnerships with entrepreneurs, partners, and volunteers;

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Understands emerging trends, leading practices, industry professional standards;

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Supports YWCA Hamilton mission, vision and values;

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Perform other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Must have an undergraduate degree, preferable in Business Administration, Social Sciences, Education or in a related field or a combination of related work and academic experience;

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Strong technology skills and experience using MS Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams), Zoom, Canva and Social Media;

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Experience working with external stakeholders and an understanding of the importance of growing those relationships;

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Passion for inclusive entrepreneurship and developing the economic prosperity of women;

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Must be focused, self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented;

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Must be able to navigate online video conferencing software to implement programming and provide participant support;

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Must have group facilitation and event management experience;

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Established ability to work well with diverse individuals in a wide variety of positions;

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Must provide a current Criminal Record Judicial Matters Police check or willingness to obtain at own cost;

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Must be able to lead and work from a feminist, anti-racist / anti-oppressive perspective for operations and strategic planning;

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and also work effectively in a team;

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Must have current Emergency First Aid and CPR certificate or willingness to obtain at own cost;

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Must be able to work from a feminist, anti-racist/anti-oppressive perspective;

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Fluency in French (both written and verbal);

WORKING CONDITIONS:
