Job description

We are seeking a gastroenterology physician to join our team as an independent contractor. The ideal candidate will be a compassionate and dedicated professional, committed to providing high-quality outpatient care. This role involves working closely with our team to deliver patient-focused services in our gastrointestinal unit and contribute to the overall well-being of our patients. Ridgecrest Regional Hospital (RRH) has earned recognition from the American Medical Association (AMA) as a Joy in Medicine™ recognized organization.Patient Care & Treatment 
  • Provide expert gastroenterological care, including patient consultations, diagnoses, management, and treatment of digestive system disorders.
  • Conduct thorough medical examinations and maintain detailed patient records. Clinical and Operative services may include the full range of colonoscopy and EGD procedures, flexible sigmoidoscopy, and hemorrhoidal banding. 
  • Develop and communicate effective treatment plans with patients and their caregivers. 
  • Maintain a reasonable patient load to ensure high-quality care: 16-20 patients per clinic day, depending on the complexity of patients. Two procedure days, 16 cases per day. 
  • Physician shall be present in the clinic or the operating room for scheduled clinics/surgeries.
  • On-call 10 days per month.


Collaborative Teamwork 
  • Work alongside a multidisciplinary team of gastroenterologists and other medical professionals. 
  • You’ll work with an assistant, and scribe service (or Ai scribe) to better manage your administrative workload. 
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and services.
  • Contribute to a supportive and collaborative work environment.
Qualifications
  • Excellent Bedside Manners 
  • M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited institution. 
  • An active CA Medical License is required to start. Assistance is available for licensing. 
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology. 
  • Residents are welcome to apply if they are completing their US residency this year, as well as the board certification.
