A.T. Still University's Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (ATSU-KCOM) is seeking an exempt, part-time Assistant Professor Family Medicine on the Kirksville, Missouri campus. This position reports to KCOM Business Operations Manager. The Assistant Professor Family Medicine will be responsible for the development and delivery of family medicine curricula for medical students; lead labs, lectures, and case presentations; serve on committees as needed; interview applicants for matriculation.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Strategic Vision and Alignment - Follow strategic leadership; aligning goals with KCOM and ATSU missions.
  • Curriculum and Pedagogical Excellence - Cultivating excellence in teaching; advancing innovation in curriculum design, pedagogy, and assessment; ensuring continuous improvement and quality enhancement.
  • Research and Scholarship Advancement โ€“ Support research, grant activity, and interdepartmental collaboration.
  • Assessment and Quality Assurance - Ensuring continuous improvement through meaningful assessment and quality enhancement initiatives.
  • Internal and External Representation - Representing the department within the college and university; engaging in professional service in the broader academic community.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Education & Experience

  • DO/MD (or equivalent terminal degree in closely related field).
  • One year relevant experience required. One to three years experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in departmental area, higher education leadership, pedagogy, and scholarly research.
  • Strong understanding of osteopathic principles and medical education preferred.
  • Commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in academic and research settings.
