Job description

FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Department of English at Bronx Community College is seeking to hire Adjunct faculty at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor to primarily teach ESL and/or composition courses with a focus on academic writing in the fall 2026 semester. Preference will be given to applicants who have strong credentials and teaching experience in composition and developmental writing.
Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
QUALIFICATIONS
For Adjunct Assistant Professor:
An earned doctorate in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Language and Literacy, English, Composition and Rhetoric, or a related field is required, as is the ability to teach successfully in various instructional modalities.
For Adjunct Lecturer:
Masters degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Language and Literacy, English, Composition and Rhetoric, or a related field is required, as is the ability to teach successfully in various instructional modalities.
Also required for all titles, is the ability to teach successfully and minimum of one year of college teaching experience.
COMPENSATION
Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
For Adjunct Lecturer: $112.50/ hour
For Adjunct Assistant Professor: $120.83/hour
