Job description

Job Summary:ย 

The Production Engineer I will support daily manufacturing operations by optimizing production processes, improving quality and efficiency, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role is ideal for candidates with 1-3 years of engineering experience in a plant or production environment who are eager to apply engineering principles to real-world manufacturing challenges. The Production Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure production goals are met safely, cost-effectively and on schedule.

Responsibilities:

ย  ย Monitor and analyze production line performance to identify opportunities for improvement in throughput, efficiency, and quality.
ย  ย Conduct or assist with root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
ย  ย Support the introduction of new products or equipment into the production line, including trials and validation.
ย  ย Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process documentation.
ย  ย Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives and support kaizen events to drive continuous improvement.
ย  ย Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and safety teams to ensure smooth and safe production operations.
ย  ย Gather and analyze production data to support decision-making and report key performance indicators (KPIs).
ย  ย Support training efforts for operators and technicians on new processes or equipment.
ย  ย Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or plant environment (internships and co-ops included).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and hands-on aptitude in a production setting.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing tools and concepts (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping) is a plus.
  • Ability to analyze data and present findings clearly and concisely. Experienced with JMP, Minitab is a plus
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with CAD or production management systems is a plus.
  • Able to properly and regularly utilize the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for a period of up to 12 hours
  • Must be able to perform the following over the course of up to 12 hours per day
    • Lift/push/pull up to 35 pounds on occasion.
    • Stoop, twist, bend
    • Reach overhead
    • Sit and/or stand for lengthy periods
    • Willingness to work in a fast-paced and hands-on environment.
