Job description

Job DescriptionPosition Summary

Preclinical Research Laboratory Study Coordinator to perform daily tasks within the PSRL involving preclinical research. The successful candidate will support multiple projects currently ongoing in the PSRL. All projects involve medical device testing. General responsibilities will be working closely with the Study Directors to organize and implement research studies. Specific tasks involve study organization, protocol creation, report drafting, data compilation, institutional animal care and use submissions, medical record keeping, coordination of research study procedures and others.

Brief Work Unit Description

The Department of Clinical Sciences mission is to assure the health and productivity of animals to meet societal needs through high quality educational programs for professional veterinary medical students, graduate veterinarians, and the public through a faculty and veterinary medical center of excellence, and to advance and disseminate comparative biomedical knowledge in an environment of interdisciplinary collaboration.

Essential Job Duties (5 maximum)
  • Coordinate and manage preclinical research studies, including study organization, protocol development, procedural documentation, imaging orders, data compilation, report preparation, and maintenance of study records.

  • Support study execution and compliance by working with Study Directors to maintain study timelines and ensure adherence to GLP standards

  • Serve as a liaison by maintaining professional relationships with research sponsors

  • Provide animal care and surgical support, including surgical preparation, animal handling, basic veterinary care, and assistance to surgeons and surgical technicians in operating rooms.

  • Assist with research data analysis and statistical support for industry and academic studies.

Conditions of Employment
  • Employment is contingent upon the successful completion and satisfactory results of the background check process.

  • Must complete and maintain required Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) training/certification and adhere to GLP standards applicable to preclinical research studies.

  • Must comply with all institutional animal care, research compliance, and safety training requirements as required for the position.

Minimum Qualifications
  • B.S. or similar field

  • Demonstrated experience in the following:

  • Preclinical laboratory setting

  • Maintenance and documentation forms and study record organization

Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years experience in pre-clinical studies

  • 3+ years experience with research study organization

  • GLP Training

  • Prior experience with data analysis and statistics

Salary Range$25 -$28 per hourRequired Application Documents
