Assistant pool managers are professionals who help oversee the daily operations of swimming pools, working under the direction of a pool manager. Their duties typically include supervising lifeguards, ensuring pool safety and cleanliness, assisting with scheduling, handling customer inquiries, and enforcing pool rules and regulations. They play a key role in maintaining a safe environment for swimmers and supporting the overall management of the aquatic facility.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an assistant pool manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Assistant Pool Manager, you need a solid understanding of pool operations, water safety, and basic maintenance, usually supported by a lifeguard certification and knowledge of first aid and CPR. • Monday will be a full day- dedicated to laundry, meal prep and weekly household setup/prep
  • Flexibility for earlier start times.
  • Limited hours on Tuesdays, Fridays typically off

Compensation: $28-$32 per hour, commensurate with experience. Mileage reimbursement provided for use of personal vehicle
Start Date: ASAP
Requirements
  • Reliable personal transportation and a clean driving record; comfortable driving children on a daily basis is essential

  • Signed confidentiality/NDA agreement required before first day
  • Social media literacy and comfort with professional online communication strongly preferred

About Our Family
We are an active, high-functioning household with three kids, a handful of pets, and two parents with demanding professional schedules. Life here moves fast- weekday afternoons/evening are the crunch point, and involve a steady rotation of pickups, practices, and dinner.
We have three kids who are all active and independent in their own ways- busy with school, sports and other extracurriculars all of which require a decent amount of transportation assistance. We also have an eclectic mix of pets we consider part of our family- two dogs, one cat, a crested gecko, and a box turtle!
We have a strong sense of what works well for our family and what we're looking for in this role. Our home already has a good rhythm, with a weekly cleaner and pool service handling some of the regular upkeep, and we're looking for someone who can help keep everything running smoothly between those touchpoints. We value someone who is proactive, organized, efficient, and naturally thinks a few steps ahead - whether that's staying on top of the day-to-day needs of the home, helping with kid pickup and drop-off logistics, or providing meal prep support. Ultimately, we're looking for a trusted partner who can learn our family's rhythm, anticipate what's needed, and help make everyday life feel a little more seamless.
Who You Are / What We're Looking For
The right person for this role doesn't wait to be told what needs doing- they look around, notice what's coming, and handle it. You're the kind of person who checks the calendar on Sunday so Monday runs smoothly. You anticipate seasonal closet swaps before anyone asks, flag when the pantry is running low, and leave the kitchen cleaner than you found it.
You're efficient without being rushed, and laid-back without being disengaged. You bring calm energy into a busy household rather than adding noise. You understand you'll be trusted with personal information, etc. about our family and you are respectful of privacy. You stay off your phone when you're on the clock in order to be present and mindful. Tech comes naturally to you, and you're comfortable enough with social media to support a small nonprofit's content calendar and scheduling.
You're in this for the long haul- not a stepping stone, but a role you can grow with and take pride in over time.
Key Responsibilities
Family Support
  • Afternoon pickups and drop-offs Monday through Thursday; school dismissal times vary by child and day of week
  • Transport children to and from school, practices, games, lessons, and activities. Typically in the 2:30-7:00pm window, but variable based on day of the week, season, etc.
  • Light supervision and back-up childcare as needed
  • Backpack prep, school form completion, activity registration, and general logistics
  • Child related errands as they arise
Meal Support
  • Prepare 3-4 fresh dinners per week; preferably cooked day-of and served hot
  • Grocery shop (preference for Whole Foods/organic ingredients) specifically for planned meals; staples managed separately by the family
  • Use the household grocery app to flag low stock items
  • Wash, chop, and prep fruits and vegetables
  • Follow organic, Whole30-style dietary preferences when applicable
  • Kitchen clean-up and maintenance in general as well as after cooking sessions
Laundry & Linens
  • Wash, dry, fold, iron/steam, as needed
  • Special garment care including hang-dry items and delicates
  • Work with family to learn their preferred method and locations of putting away/storing clean laundry, with the intention of eventually being able to own this task
  • Maintain tidy, well-stocked laundry areas
  • Linen rotation as needed
Household Organization & Maintenance
  • Daily resets and prep home ahead of weekly cleaner visits
  • Light tidying including dishes, surfaces, and vacuuming high-traffic areas
  • Seasonal clothing swaps (approximately twice per year), including hand-me-down sorting and donation coordination
  • Event, holiday, and guest prep as needed
  • Packing and unpacking support for family travel
  • Replace batteries, light bulbs, smoke detector batteries, and similar routine maintenance items
  • Maintain outdoor seating and kitchenette area
Inventory & Errands
  • Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies; manage running supply lists
  • Collaborate on Amazon, Costco, and Target household orders and subscriptions
  • Amazon returns (drop at Whole Foods), dry cleaning drop-off and pickup
  • Weekly PO box checks and package handling
  • Break down boxes and place in recycling
Deep Cleaning & Special Projects
  • Periodic deep cleans of refrigerator, oven, pantry, and baseboards
  • Refresh and organize garage, mudroom, and entryway as needed
  • Organizational projects for kids' gear, seasonal items, and storage areas
Administrative & Personal Assistant Support
  • Business-side clerical tasks: check runs, bank drops, document scanning, permit and title office trips, notary errands, and occasional site visits (approximately 3-10 hours per week)
  • Awareness of and coordination with the family calendar; not managing it, but working in sync with it
  • Social media content scheduling and weekly support for a small mindfulness nonprofit; involves batching and scheduling pre-written content, approximately 10 hours per month
Pet Care
  • Schedule and transport pets to grooming and veterinary appointments
  • Maintain pet supplies
