Job description

Description:

We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Associate to join our team. We provide five-star legal service through our commitment to Communication, Respect, Professionalism, and Accountability. We are proactive and look to maximize our client’s recovery and minimize the delays in receiving payment that our clients experience. This position is ideal for attorneys with 1-3 years of experience in PIP/No-Fault litigation. The Associate will gain valuable experience in all aspects of personal injury practice. The Associate will make appearances at arbitrations and any necessary court proceedings, write briefs, conduct legal research, and assist in settling cases.

Requirements:

  • Drafts legal documents, including prehearing submissions, fee certifications, motions, and affidavits.
  • Prepares and procures exhibits for hearings.
  • Researches and analyzes statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources; provides written analysis to attorneys.
  • Attends hearings.
  • Assists in discovery, including drafting interrogatories, obtaining documents, and attending depositions.
  • Organizes and maintains case files and legal documents.
  • Settles cases.
  • Meets with attorneys, clients, and other professionals to discuss assigned cases or projects.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with Forthright deadlines, schedules, and procedural requirements.
  • Works with our PIP team, including our attorneys and paralegals, to give five-star service to our injured clients.
  • Works well with assigned paralegals
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a PIP associate, preferably from the Claimant side.
  • Working knowledge of Forthright Rules.
  • Working knowledge of the NJ No-Fault statutes.
  • Ability to analyze medical bills for compliance with the NJ Fee Schedules.
  • Prior experience preparing Rule 16 summaries and prehearing submissions with exhibits.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong desire to help others.
  • Interest in becoming a trial lawyer.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Proficient in Lexis.
  • Experience with Case Management Software is a plus.
