Job description

POSITION: NYFF Digital Media Assistant

DEPARTMENT: Marketing & Communications

LOCATIONS: New York, New York

TERM: Full-Time; Seasonal (6 Weeks): 9/8/2026 - 10/16/2026

RATE: $23/hour, with overtime after 40 hours of work in a week

REPORTS TO: Assistant Director, Marketing


JOB OVERVIEW


Reporting to the Assistant Director, Marketing, the NYFF Digital Media Assistant will support the mission and activities of NYFF64 by supporting the festival-specific videography/photography/editing campaigns. This is an on-site position with select remote working days and select evening shifts during the festival, 9/25 through 10/12.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES

  • Assists NYFF videography team, helping with set-up, camera builds, and media delivery confirmations, as well as tracking key equipment assets and organization.

  • Assists NYFF editing team, including running, transferring, organizing, and duping media.

  • Assists NYFF photography team, including transferring and organizing photography.

  • Assists NYFF Digital Content Producer, including coordinating with videographers and handling select videography duties.

  • Assists with communication across videography, editing, and photography departments, ensuring smooth organization and delivery.

  • Assists with other key duties as assigned, including photo/video/editing schedule creation and handling updates leading up to and through the festival.

  • Assists with wrap duties related to videography/photography, ensuring all media is delivered and organized.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED


  • 1-2 years in production assistant experience, ideally in a film/entertainment or film festival environment

  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently but with open communication

  • Experience with the production/shooting/editing of video/audio recommended

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with experience in time management of tasks and duties

  • Experience with Google Docs/Drive, Adobe Premiere, and Slack recommended

  • Knowledge of film industry and New York Film Festival recommended
