Job description

Traditional M-F Schedule, No Remote or Hybrid option


In conjunction with the VP of Payroll, responsible for managing the daily activities of the department. Responsibilities include processing payroll, training new hires, problem resolution, and suggesting best practices on department procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll for designated clients
  • Train new employees and clients on payroll procedures, software, company practices, policies and procedures
  • Develop best practices to improve efficiency and accuracy of payroll processes
  • Review and recommend improvements to existing payroll procedures
  • Ensure that payroll is processed timely and accurately
  • Assist in payroll calculations, deductions, insurance coverage, wage garnishments, tax filings, and child support
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date employee payroll records
  • Prepare employee wage summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leaves, retirement savings and benefits
  • Work with AP and taxes to process current year and prior year voids
  • Address payroll related queries and requests
  • Analyze payroll problems and provide appropriate resolutions
  • Follow and enforce federal, state and local laws
  • Participate in hiring process, performance reviews, pay changes and progressive discipline
  • Assist with implementation of new clients, ensuring system is set up per client specs
  • Thorough understanding of client PTO configuration and rules to ensure system is functioning appropriately and PTO is used and tracked properly
  • Prepare and lead monthly staff meetings
  • Create bank files for direct deposits

Qualifications:

  • Three to five years of payroll experience
  • 2+ years of PEO, ASO, multi-site or multi-state payroll experience
  • Experience with Prism and HR Pyramid preferred
