Job description

Shift: $25/Hr., 4:00 PM to 2:30 AM, Mon to Thur, 12 Months Contract W2 The Overhead Crane Operator supports multi-phase transition manufacturing by setting up and operating automated and semi-automated equipment in a production environment. This role involves material handling using cranes and forklifts, operating complex machinery, interpreting technical documentation, and ensuring quality, safety, and compliance throughout manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities
  • Operate overhead cranes, jib cranes, bridge cranes, and forklifts to load/unload and move materials between operations.
  • Set up and operate automated equipment across manufacturing phases, including robotic systems, furnaces, laser cutters, presses, welders, milling machines, and plating equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and specifications to perform operations accurately.
  • Perform minor equipment maintenance (nozzle changes, oil checks, filter inspections).
  • Conduct in-process inspections, integrity checks, and support quality measurements and documentation.
  • Use precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to maintain close tolerances.
  • Maintain records using computer-based data collection systems.
  • Follow all safety, health, and PPE requirements and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Collaborate with team members, assist with training, and adapt to shifting priorities.
Qualifications
  • 2-4 years of manufacturing experience with overhead crane operations and automated equipment.
  • Applied trades training with stainless alloys, blueprint reading, metrology, and visual weld inspection.
  • Proficiency with precision measurement tools, shop math, and measurement conversions.
  • Knowledge of electrical schematics and manufacturing processes.
  • Certifications or ability to obtain forklift, crane operator, and LPI certifications.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work safely in a production environment.
