Job description

Part-time RN position ideal for supplemental income—Monday through Friday schedule, no required weekends or holidays. Whether you're looking for additional income or a long-term flexible opportunity, this role offers clinical autonomy without the burnout. Griswold Home Care for Howard County is looking for an experienced RN to perform client assessments, develop care plans, and supervise CNAs in the field

Schedule & Expectations

Primary Schedule: Monday - Friday (based on client intake needs)
Weekend Coverage: Saturday/Sunday as needed (not required weekly)
Expected Hours: Flexible

Work independently in the field with office support when you need it. You set your route, manage your assessments, and have control over your day.

RN Job Responsibilities

  • Perform initial nursing assessments and ongoing cognition screens at start of care
  • Develop individualized care plans for each new client including recommendations for care hours
  • Conduct follow-up visits per Maryland licensing requirements and at client status changes
  • Monitor and document patient conditions accurately
  • Collaborate with community care partners to support quality client care
  • Supervise and support CNAs to ensure they provide high-quality care
  • Support the Lead Field Nurse with other duties as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Active Maryland RN license
  • Current CPR certification
  • Reliable transportation with valid driver's license and insurance
  • Ability to work independently in client homes throughout Howard County
  • Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills
  • Pass criminal background check
  • Health clearance (TB test, Hepatitis B)
  • Ability to make independent clinical decisions
  • Ability to respond swiftly in emergency situations

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of home care, home health, or hospice nursing experience in the past 2 years
  • 2+ years of supervision and administration experience
  • Experience working with older adult populations
  • Evidence of continued professional education
  • Strong interpersonal skills for building rapport with clients, caregivers, and staff
  • Exceptional problem-solving, prioritizing, and multitasking abilities
