Job description

About the Role:

We have a current opening for an Assistant Manufacturing Manager and are actively reviewing applications.

Supporting the Preparation Production Manager, the Assistant Manufacturing Manager is responsible for the realization of the production process of the Preparation Production Area while respecting cycles and ensuring the correct supervision of the productive factors (material, methods, labour force and machinery). 

Schedule 
This position will work a straight day shift but must be available for after hours communication as required

Main Responsibilities:

MANAGEMENT OF PRODUCTION FACTORS
   Defines and implement activities for the optimization of the production factors (materials, methods, labour force and machinery) 
   Responsible for organizing meetings for ongoing production activities
   Responsible for the availability of the packaging/semi-finished/raw materials in case of modifications to the production plan during the week

BUDGET
   Supports the Production Manager, working together with Maintenance to define the investments budget and maintenance budget of the Preparation Area.
   Supports the Production Manager, working together with the Performance Analyst to define the labour and budget of the Preparation Area.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
   Identifies and proposes continuous improvement initiatives of the line performance (manpower efficiency, waste products / reworks, productivity)

MONITORING OF PERFORMANCE
   Guarantees that the operator carries out the necessary quality control checks on the product
   Analyses the report data in collaboration with the Performance Analyst (efficiency, waste, downtime, etc.)
   Participates in production meetings

PLANNING
   Plans the operational activities in the Preparation Production Area with the support of the operators (activities on the shift) and maintenance (plant's technical aspects)
   Working with Planning team daily to review and update the production plan

MAINTENANCE
   Defines the priority of the interventions on the lines in the medium term in collaboration with the Maintenance Team
   Collaborates with the Maintenance Engineers in the drawing up of a plan of the programmed operating assistance and in the updating of the plans of cyclic maintenance
   Ensures the maintenance interventions have been carried out in the specified times and according to the standards of hygiene and sanitation

PRODUCTION PROGRAMMING
   Supports Planning department in the drawing up of the weekly production program
   Defines the necessary actions for the implementation of production program in collaboration with the operators and accountable for the lines in the Preparation Area
   Carries out the production scheduling in collaboration with the operators and accountable for the lines in the Preparation Area
   Carries out the analysis of the variations of the line within Preparation Production in collaboration with the Performance Analyst who provides the necessary data
   Accountable to the Production Manager for the interruptions and/or slowdowns of the lines within the Preparation Area

Main Responsibilities -Continued:

HYGIENE AND SAFETY 
   Guarantees that the standards of hygiene and safety on the lines within Preparation Area are complied with in collaboration with the operators as supervisor on the shift
   Manage and assist operators with reports and collaboration with Health & Safety team

HUMAN RESOURCES
   Responsible for the management and allocation of the resources on the lines within the Preparation Area and for the solution of conflicts on the line.
   Assist and support the team during the selection process of the resources of the line.

FERRERO OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE (F.O.X.)
   Ensure the proper principles propagation, making sure that FOX guidelines are followed by the entire maintenance system under his area of competence
   Organize/coordinates training activities to continuously educate the team whenever necessary
   Promote new FOX tool and techniques taking advantage/inspiration by the day-by-day observation of process and working attitude
   Promote an effective communication on performance and losses elimination to all the actors able to influence them
   Utilize the OEE tools to identify areas of improvements

QUALITY AND FOOD SAFETY
   Implements all the actions necessary to guarantee the quality of the product and production process on the line
   Assist with internal and external audits and responsible for completion of open audit points

ENVIRONMENTAL
   To assist in the implementation of and conformance to the Environmental Management System within key process areas.

About You:

   A minimum of 3 years' experience in a leadership capacity in a manufacturing setting.
   Degree in a related field is an asset 
   Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods
   Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
   Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel selection, training, labour relations and conflict resolution
   Strong technical knowledge in connection with mechanical/industrial applications
   Proven experience in motivating and working with people in a collaborative manner 
   Strong communication skills in a multi-cultural environment
   Monitoring/assessing performance of individuals, or process to make improvements or take corrective action
   Demonstrated ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
   Demonstrated leadership presence 
   Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing 
   Experience with SAP
   Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)

The base compensation range for this position is $84,000 - $110,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This range represents the anticipated salary for this position at this time.

In addition to base salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and other benefits.
