Job Title: New Hire Utility Operator

Job Description

As a New Hire Utility Operator, you will be responsible for learning to operate equipment associated with handling aluminum products. You will start as a Utility employee and receive training to operate, support, and move materials using lifting techniques and hoists. This role requires adherence to safe job practices, SOPs, and meeting quality requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all quality objectives are met and assist operators in operating extrusion or casting equipment.
  • Report and review any unusual conditions to lead operators or supervisors.
  • Work collaboratively in a team to meet daily production goals.
  • Adhere to Union terms regarding shift movement and flexibility.
  • Operate machinery, perform quality checks, and handle packing and inspecting tasks.
  • Learn all departments and transition to a specific department based on preference.

Essential Skills

  • 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing or related fields.
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience in machine operation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn forklift operation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in production, assembly, or material handling.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting 15-50 lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs occasionally with assistance.
  • Experience with hand tools, quality control, and inspection.

Work Environment

Pay and Benefits
