Job description

Operations Supervisor Job Description
The Operations Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all staffed departments are running as expected, by supporting and guiding team members to deliver exceptional service. This role is responsible to provide oversight to 12-15 employees that will be working across campus during their shift. This supervisor will be responsible for taking attendance and communicating coverage issues with the client and management. We also expect the supervisor to ensure all employees check in on time with each department and are ready to work. We want this position to focus on ensuring all scheduled employees are meeting or exceeding guest and client expectations by consistently rounding on all departments, fostering a positive work environment, modelling the way and consistently monitoring expectations to ensure compliance.
The right candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, is able to make good operational choices, in real time, to leverage available resources when there are call outs or emergency coverage needs. This supervisor must be comfortable coaching employees and holding them accountable when needed. This role will report directly to the general manager and will be held accountable to provide daily shift summaries each day. Areas that this supervisor will engage with are dispatch services and garage attendants, patient transport services, valet services, cashier services, and non-clinical medical staff. This Supervisor will also represent VPNE during non-peak hours for guest complaints and client requests and will be responsible to escalate issues that need immediate attention appropriately. The ideal candidate will be able to work well with the team but will also be expected to work independently.
Responsibilities:
  • Ensures employees and guests are working safely at all times.
  • Ensure all areas of operation have expected coverage.
  • Ensure all employees are in uniform and are maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Ensure employees are creating positive guest and client experiences through their work and attitude.
  • Ensure all employees are receiving appropriate breaks and assist with coverage when needed.
  • Must be enthusiastic about the job, creating a positive environment for everyone.
  • Coach employees on using appropriate and approved language choices for guest/client interactions.
  • Communicate shift updates to peers and leadership for shift change.
  • This Supervisor Must set a professional example by following the VPNE uniform guidelines.
  • Jump in and backfill key areas of operation if coverage cannot be achieved such as patient transport.

Requirements:
  • Friendly and outgoing and has the ability to create professional relationships in the workplace.
  • MUST have 1-2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Possess an upbeat personality, willingness to go the extra mile, and a strong work ethic.
  • Maintain uniform standards when on job premises.
  • Ability to perform routine equipment checks to ensure functionality.
  • Ability to stand/kneel/bend/walk around campus several times per shift.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Be able to pass a criminal background check and RMV check.
  • Must be able to prioritize task work and remain organized.
