Assistant Project Manager - Stormwater / Public Works Operations
Are you a hands-on leader with experience in stormwater, sewer, or public works operations and a background supervising crews-especially those operating vac trucks? Inframark is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support and lead field operations while growing into a broader management role.
This is an excellent opportunity for professionals with 3-5 years of experience who are ready to step into a leadership position managing crews, operations, and client relationships in a fast-paced public works environment.
What You'll Do
  • Lead and support daily field operations for stormwater, sewer, and public works services
  • Supervise crews, including vac truck operators and CDL drivers, ensuring safe and efficient work execution
  • Plan, schedule, and assign work; monitor productivity and quality of service
  • Coach and mentor team members, providing training and performance feedback
  • Assist in managing budgets, tracking expenses, and identifying cost-saving opportunities
  • Support capital improvement planning and operational enhancements
  • Maintain accurate operational records and prepare reports
  • Partner with clients and leadership to ensure contract compliance and strong relationships
  • Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Participate in hiring, performance management, and disciplinary processes

What We're Looking For
  • 3-5 years of experience in stormwater, sewer, or public works operations
  • Supervisory or crew lead experience, ideally overseeing field teams or equipment operators
  • Experience working with or managing vactor/vac truck operations highly preferred
  • CDL (Commercial Driver's License) preferred
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Operator license (or ability to obtain) preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills
  • Experience with scheduling, budgeting, and operational planning
  • Detail-oriented with solid problem-solving ability
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic reporting tools
