Job title: Supervisor II – Operations

Location: Davenport, IA 52809
Duration: 12 Months – Possible Extension/Conversion
Shift: 1st Shift | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Schedule: Primarily 1st Shift | Flexibility Required
Work Arrangement: 100% On-Site

Description:

Major Purpose

  • Supervise production, maintenance, and/or warehouse employees to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
  • Lead operations involving semi-skilled to unskilled employees.
  • Serve as the first-line liaison between shop-floor employees and management.
  • Drive performance in Safety, Quality, Schedule, Efficiency, and Continuous Improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead departmental plans and activities to achieve operational objectives.
  • Investigate and resolve people, process, part, and system issues.
  • Identify deficiencies, reduce costs, and improve processes and performance.
  • Administer employee policies, procedures, work rules, and practices.
  • Monitor individual and production-line performance.
  • Take corrective action and administer discipline when required.
  • Address employee concerns and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Partner with the Safety Team to maintain safety standards and prevent injuries.
  • Plan equipment and facility maintenance to maximize uptime and asset utilization.
  • Manage department costs and stay within operating budget targets.
  • Establish effective employee communication, feedback, and guidance.
  • Ensure employees have proper training, work instructions, and tools.
  • Lead departmental continuous improvement initiatives.

Quality Leadership

  • Lead a team of Quality Inspectors.
  • Lead the Quality Management Services team.
  • Oversee: Tool calibration, CMM Lab, Non-conforming processes
  • Spend approximately 70% of time supporting the shop floor and 30% in the office.

Schedule Requirements

  • Primarily 1st Shift.
  • Exact hours may be discussed with the selected candidate and hiring manager.
  • Candidates must be willing to work: Off-shifts, Overtime, Some weekends

Required Skills

  • Strong supervisory experience, preferably in manufacturing or warehouse operations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality processes and fundamentals.
  • Flexible and willing to learn new processes and responsibilities.
  • Proficient with computers, including: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook

Education & Experience

Preferred:

  • 4-year Bachelor's degree.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.

Candidates without a 4-year degree:

  • May be considered with demonstrated supervisory experience.
