Description
JOB DESCRIPTION: Supervise overall day-to-day operations of a defined area within The Eye Center. Plans, organizes, and directs day-to-day routine operations of preoperative, operative, and post-operative surgery patients, provides training and on-boarding to new team members assigned to location; coordinate and lead in-service and team meetings; gather and resolve patient relations issues/complaints; assist operations manager with weekly schedule format and staff shifting; work with study coordinators to ensure all study patients are seen timely and in accord to clinic needs; provide on-going performance feedback and addresses problems that arise. Work with operations leadership to complete annual performance review for team members. Participate directly in clinical and non-clinical roles. Coordinates the purchase of medical and office supplies necessary for the practice. maintains inventory system to ensure adequate resources; participate in maintenance program for all office and medical equipment for timely repairs and proper functioning. Assist operations leadership with all equipment and facility maintenance issues and concerns, work with building safety captain to educate and train new employees on proper safety regarding facilities and equipment. Works with manager to formulate plan for professional development. Attends educational in-services as appropriate. participates in professional activities and organizations to maintain knowledge of current trends, practices, and developments. Assists with communicating and maintaining TEC safety program standards; oversee management of medication and supply ordering for clinic use, attend monthly safety meetings and bi-weekly patient safety and clinical service meetings; Responsible for daily huddle and communication regarding patient and clinic flow, schedule updates, staffing schedules, equipment needs or repairs, etc. to providers and team. SuperUser for electronic medical record, EMR.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent. Must be skilled Certified Ophthalmic Tech cross-trained in patient exam and operating room procedures. Five (5) years job related experience with two (2) years in a leadership role. JCAHPO certification and knowledge of office-based and/or ASC operating room procedure preferred. Proficient with word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software applications. BLS/CPR certified.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Medium): 20-50 lbs; 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 50 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock , Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation , Shift work, Travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
