Job description

Summary:

Working as the Laundry Operations Manager,ย you are responsible for the production aspects of a large-scale laundry facility including meeting customer requirements, maintaining operational efficiencies, assembling and directing operations management staff and ensuring integration of the engineering, distribution, service and office departments while maintaining a safe and professional work environment.

ย 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manages the daily operations of an industrial laundry facility in the processing and delivery of healthcare linens
  • Manages the development and training of the staff in efficiently and safely producing a high-quality linen product
  • Manage and oversee delivery driver operations, including scheduling, route assignments, daily log reviews, performance accountability, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Direct liaison with the Chief Engineer/Engineering Manager to assure the safe operation and upkeep of all production equipment
  • Direct liaison with Office Manager to ensure all HR compliance issues such as training, regulatory compliance, staffing, payroll and benefit administration for the staff is scheduled and completed within policy requirements
  • Chairs and/or co-chairs the plant safety committee and oversees the regulatory compliance for all required industry and regulatory agencies; knowledge of HLAC, OSHA and JACHAO requirements
  • Assists the General Manager in the handling of Joint Commission, Linen Committee, and operating committees within the facility and client hospitals
  • Attends, participates, and documents laundry surveys for potential clientsย 
  • Assists the General Manager with annual performance appraisals of staff as well as coaching, counseling, and corrective action for associate improvement needs
  • Develops action plans and Personal Development Plans (PDP) for current supervisory team to assist in development of their growth and success
  • Oversee the efficiency management of required utilities, supplies, linen purchases, and warehouse/inventory issues for successful cost control within the facility

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in Business Management or equivalent preferred
  • A minimum of 2 to 5 yearsโ€™ combined operations and/or management experience required
  • Knowledge of production methods and monitoring
  • Knowledge of, or the ability to learn, the functions of laundry equipment and basic washroom chemistry
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written format and oral presentations
  • Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
  • Ability to maintain and demonstrate organization in a changing environment
