Job Title: Shipping Supervisor
Job Summary:
We are a growing distribution center looking for a motivated and engaging operations area supervisor to lead a team of 40+ team members. We are looking for a leader that wants to create a winning team through communication, creating buy in, and developing team members.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide direction and leadership in accordance with established policies and procedures while focusing efforts to maximize productivity and safety within the distribution center.

  • Manage the daily activities of the assigned work unit to include safety, engagement, training, performance and labor management, quality, and process/continuous improvement projects.

  • Understand the labor standards for the assigned work areas. Analyze and report data relative to the standards to constantly improve quality and efficiency. Identify process improvement, make recommendations, and collaborate across the entire building operation to coordinate and maintain a high level of customer service.

  • Monitory daily, weekly, and monthly production goals to ensure effective staffing and manpower utilization. Communicate and elevate concerns

  • Regarding productivity and/or engineered standards to Operations Manager and Industrial Engineer.

  • Lead a high performing team through engagement, coaching, recognition, development. Participate in the hiring of new crew members, and maintain consistent accountability to process, procedure, and overall performance to drive business results.

  • Effectively coordinate and communicate with all support areas such as Buying, Allocations, Quality Assurance, IT, Human Resources, Transportation, and various corporate office support areas

  • Consult and correspond with team leads or managers to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, and non-conformance to specifications and/or standards.

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred. High school diploma or GED required.

  • 3-5 years of related experience or a combination of education and experience in a warehouse/distribution/fulfillment environment.

Qualifications:
  • Experience in an automated and conveyor driven environment is preferred.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of distribution KPIs, production reporting and distribution processes.

  • Demonstrate leadership, problem solving, and interpersonal skills preferably in a distribution environment.

  • Proficient in collecting and analyzing data to formulate recommendations for process improvements.

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks in a dynamic work environment.

  • Solid written and verbal communication skills to include proficiency in Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Flexibility to work varied hours to include weekends as business needs warrant.

  • Supervising Experience: 2 years (Required)

  • Warehouse Experience: 2 years (Required)
