About This Role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Director who is passionate about working with children, families, and staff. This role is perfect for a collaborative and dependable professional who can work all shifts as scheduled. As our right-hand person, you will support the Owner and Director, help keep the center running smoothly, and ensure the well-being of our children. We offer a flexible schedule and competitive pay, and we're open to part-time or full-time arrangements. What You'll Do
  • Support daily operations and administrative tasks, ensuring a seamless experience for our families and staff.
  • Supervise and schedule staff, providing guidance and support when needed, and helping to maintain a positive classroom environment.
  • Maintain compliance with state licensing and center policies, ensuring we meet the highest standards.
  • Collaborate with teachers to implement curriculum and manage classrooms, creating a nurturing and engaging environment for our children.
  • Communicate effectively with families, addressing concerns and providing support.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment, ensuring the well-being of our children.
  • Take on acting Director responsibilities as needed, providing leadership and guidance to our team.
  • Assist with enrollment, tours, and onboarding, providing a warm and inclusive experience for new families and staff.
  • Manage paperwork, supplies, and materials, ensuring our center runs efficiently.
  • Maintain a culture of health and safety, ensuring our children and staff are protected.
  • Contribute to setting a positive tone and culture for the center, fostering a supportive and joyful workplace.
  • Solve daily problems and challenges, working collaboratively with our team to find solutions.
  • Support center goals and improvement plans, driving our success and growth.

Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited 4-year college or be a registered nurse with less than a 4-year degree and 1 year of full-time experience with children in a group setting; OR
  • 36 hours of coursework at least 30 of which shall be in business management, child or youth development, early childhood education or a closely related field or a TN Early Childhood Administrator Credential; and 2 years of full-time experience with children in a group setting; OR
  • High School diploma (or equivalent as recognized by state law) and Tennessee Early Childhood Training Alliance Certificate (TECTA) for 30 clock hours of Administrator Orientation training or the

equivalent as recognized by the Department and 4 years of full-time experience with children in a group; or

  • Continuously employed as an on-site child care director and or Assistant Director, or a child care agency owner
