Job description

You're the first person our patients see, and the reason they come back.

Every practice has patients who got a treatment plan, said "let me think about it," and were never heard from again. Their tooth didn't get better. It got worse, and more expensive. Somebody has to care enough to pick up the phone and bring them back in.

That's this job. SmileHQ has taken care of families in Prince George's County for over 20 years, and this is the seat that holds the whole day together.

What you'll actually do:

  • Greet and check in every patient. You set the tone. People are nervous at the dentist — you're the reason they relax.
  • Build treatment plans patients can actually understand. Break down what's covered, what it costs, what happens if they wait.
  • Check patients out and get the next visit on the books before they walk out the door.
  • Follow up on incomplete treatment. The patient who accepted a crown in March and never scheduled it? You find them, you call them, you get them back.
  • Keep the schedule full. An empty chair is a bad day. You fill the holes, work the cancellations, and manage the waitlist.

Who this is for: You're warm with people and organized in a way that's mildly annoying to everyone around you. You keep a list and you close loops. You can explain a $1,200 treatment plan to a nervous patient without making them feel judged, and you can pick up the phone and make the ask. You'd rather be handed a goal than be micromanaged. DENTAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.

Who this isn't for: If you want a quiet job where you just answer phones and stay in your lane, keep scrolling. The schedule is a scoreboard here, and you'll see your own numbers.

DENTAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. Warmth and follow-through are required, and we can't teach those.

What we offer: $21–$25/hour, and we pay the top of that range for someone clearly ready for it. PTO and paid holidays. Health benefits. Dental care for you and your family — obviously. A direct line to the owner and room to grow into more.

SmileHQ is a woman-owned practice and an equal opportunity employer. We've been part of this community for two decades. We hire for character and train for skill.
