Job description

Overview
The APP Clinical manager is responsible for operational performance, and appropriate development of their advanced practice providers (NNP, PNP, PA) within their group/team/division in a triad partnership with the Medical Director and Practice Manager of the respective WSP/WSG group/division. The manager will also serve clinically as a pediatric nurse practitioner or physician assistant. In addition, this manager is responsible for leading their group/team in the development and execution of operational tactics to achieve aspirational goals for the group; including but not limited to-quality, patient experience, clinical outcomes, financial outcomes, new services, regional development, referral development, clinical operations, and medical staff interactions with the group/team. In their leadership role, the individual will work closely with other Physician & Advanced Practice Provider Leaders, physicians, APPs, nursing, administration, recruiting, clinical and financial staff, compliance and marketing. The APP Manager will also serve in a clinical capacity as either a PNP or NNP, delivering outstanding quality care to the patients within their assigned division and the WakeMed system. The Mgr, APP Clinical will be expected to utilize a collaborative leadership style to develop WakeMed Health and Hospitals into one that is recognized as a national leader in conjunction with our Mission, Vision and Values. Position is .15 FTE administrative and .85 FTE Clinical. This role manages the APPs within the following divisions: newborn nursery, MNUR, peds hospitalist, peds medical & surgical subspecialties.
