Tittle - Senior RAN / Cloud Engineer
Location: Redmond, WA 98052
Duration: 06 Month contract with extension
Responsibilities
Test Strategy & Planning: Develop and implement detailed test plans, test cases, and test strategies for RAN features, including functional, performance, stability, and regression testing, specifically addressing cloud-native deployments and OAM aspects.
Cloud OAM Validation: Design and execute tests to validate the OAM functionalities of cloud-native RAN components, including fault management, configuration management, performance management, security management, and lifecycle management (e.G., deployment, scaling, upgrades) in cloud environments.
Test Automation: Drive the development and maintenance of automated test suites and frameworks using scripting languages (e.G., Python, Robot Framework) to enhance efficiency and coverage for both RAN and Cloud OAM testing.
Troubleshooting & Analysis: Identify, analyze, and debug complex issues within RAN software and hardware, particularly those related to cloud infrastructure, virtualization, and OAM interactions, collaborating with development teams for resolution.
Performance & Scalability Testing: Conduct performance, load, and stress testing for RAN elements deployed on cloud platforms, evaluating resource utilization, latency, and throughput under various conditions.
Documentation & Reporting: Create clear and concise test reports, defect descriptions, and technical documentation, communicating findings to stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify areas for test process improvement, tool enhancement, and adoption of best practices in cloud-native testing.
Collaboration: Work closely with R&D, product management, and customer support teams to ensure high-quality product delivery.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or related years of experience.
Experience: 5+ years of experience in RAN testing, with a significant portion focused on 4G/5G technologies.
RAN Expertise:
In-depth understanding of 4G (LTE) and 5G (NR) RAN architectures, protocols (e.G., RRC, PDCP, RLC, MAC, PHY), and interfaces (e.G., F1, X2, Xn, S1, N2).
Experience with RAN functional testing, performance testing, and system integration.
Execution of test strategies, Report creation, and review with Customer Team.
Cloud OAM Knowledge:
Strong understanding of cloud-native principles, microservices architecture, and containerization (e.G., Docker, Kubernetes).
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.G., OpenStack, VMware, AWS, Azure, GCP) and virtualization technologies.
Proficiency in OAM concepts and tools for cloud-based systems, including monitoring (e.G., Prometheus, Grafana), logging (e.G., ELK stack), orchestration (e.G., Helm, Ansible), and CI/CD pipelines.
Familiarity with network function virtualization (NFV) and software-defined networking (SDN) concepts.
Technical Skills:
Experience with test automation frameworks (e.G., Robot Framework, Pytest).
Familiarity with version control systems (e.G., Git).
Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, switching).
Soft Skills:
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a global team environment.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
