Job description

Position Summary:

DHL currently has an exciting opportunity available for a Network Planning Manager. The Network Planning Manager performs analytical work to support the various business needs of the  DHL Express Air and Linehaul Networks. The Business Analyst prepares, analyzes, and reports data to improve the utilization of the DHL Express Air and Linehaul Network movements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops holiday network operations plans to support supplemental network capacity requirements, as well as reduction in capacity based on utilization forecast
  • Works collaboratively with cross-functional (hub, gateway, field operations, etc.) stakeholders to review, modify, and implement holiday plans
  • Monitors effectiveness of holiday plans and incorporates best practices and lessons learned into future holiday plans
  • Develops statistical forecasts to project future network capacity requirements and communicates requirements to impacted stakeholders
  • Analyzes statistical data and prepares analysis to review and support proposed Aviation network changes
  • Ability to work autonomously and provide recommendations to improve service quality and load factors with cost consideration
  • Summarizes findings to present to management in the form of Network Change Requests and/or Business Case Analysis using defined business rules and processes
  • Produces reports for management that draw data from various sources to aid in tracking business unit objectives
  • Develops and follows appropriate processes and procedures for accomplishing work
  • Takes part in various departmental projects and processes
  • May assist in training efforts for assigned DHL business unit, including the deployment of network tools
  • May provide functional guidance, advice and/or training to less-experienced network planning professionals

Qualifications:

  • Seasoned professional. Concerned with problems that have a direct and important effect on business programs and results. Serves as consultant to management on major matters pertaining to policies, plans, and objectives
  • State-of-the-art knowledge of technologies, processes, and practices
  • Aptitude in Power BI to build and maintain outward facing reporting
  • Fundamental understanding of AI modeling
  • Typically requires BS/BA in related discipline and 6-12 years experience in related field OR MS/MA and generally 5-7 years experience in related field
  • Professional certification required in some areas
