What You Will Do:
  • Define and drive enterprise standards, architecture, and design patterns for firewall and perimeter security.

  • Serve as the senior escalation point for complex network security and application delivery issues.

  • Lead architecture reviews, risk assessments, and security design for critical initiatives.

  • Influence platform strategy, lifecycle planning, and investment decisions with leadership.

  • Enhance operational maturity through automation, optimization, and resilience improvements.

  • Provide mentorship and technical leadership across network security teams and partners.

  • Collaborate with architects and application teams to design secure, resilient, and scalable solutions.

  • Advanced knowledge of Firewalls, Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), Web Content Filtering, Load Balancers, Azure Front Door / Gateway, PKI, WAF, additional Security Appliances, etc.

  • Knowledge of OT/ICS/SCADA environments from the network security perspective, including Purdue zoning, and segregation techniques between business and operational networks.

  • Assist application groups design, architect and implement solutions that provide redundancy, acceleration and automated failover and recovery across geographically dispersed locations.

  • Understanding of UNIX environments; previous experience in scripting, including bash, python, etc

  • Inclusion in the Network Services security on-call rotation.

Who You Are:
  • Related university degree OR a two-year technical diploma with 7+ years of experience in network security and application delivery.

  • Strong expertise in firewalls, load balancing, cloud security services, and network architectures.

  • Proven ability to translate technical risks into clear business impacts and actionable guidance.

  • Demonstrated leadership through influence, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration, with strong regulatory and risk management experience.

  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (OSI model, protocols, services) and security technologies (IPS, WAF, PKI, encryption, SSL).

  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, organizational, documentation, and communication skills.

  • Solid grasp of cloud-based security environments, including Azure Front Door and Web Application Firewall (WAF).

  • Solid understanding of supporting technologies including UNIX, DNS, and secure application build.

  • Solid grasp of encryption technologies including SSL certificates, PKI, OpenSSL, and modern cryptographic standards.

  • Solid knowledge of Authentication mechanisms, such as SLDAP, RADIUS, SAML (including Multi Factor Authentication).

  • Good understanding of application design and multi layered security models.

Working Conditions:
  • Fast-paced, high-pressure environment with competing priorities and strict deadlines.

  • Work is performed in both office and occasional field settings.

  • Participation in an on-call rotation, including evenings, weekends, and emergency support.

  • We will not be able to provide visa sponsorship support for this position.

Salary Ranges from $115,000 - $140,000 CAD for Ontario locations based upon candidate's experience, skills, and internal equity. Applicable compensation policies and guidelines apply to internal candidates.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
