This role applies advanced technical knowledge to maintain reliable, secure, and scalable connectivity services across campus, data center, and cloud environments.
The Senior Network Engineer serves as a subject matter expert and escalation point for complex network issues, provides technical leadership on assigned initiatives, mentors less-experienced staff, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to support organizational technology objectives.
Responsibilities
Network Infrastructure & Operations
  • Design, implement, operate, and support enterprise network infrastructure, including local, wide-area, and cloud-connected environments
  • Monitor, analyze, and optimize network performance, capacity, and availability using enterprise monitoring and analytics tools
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex network incidents and interoperability issues across core, access, and edge environments
  • Maintain reliable operation of network services through proactive maintenance, lifecycle management, and change control practices
  • Participate in a scheduled on-call rotation to support critical enterprise network services during off-hours, evenings, or weekends, as required

Network Security & Secure Access Services
  • Support enterprise network security and secure access services, including firewalls, remote access, and cloud-delivered security platforms
  • Operate and support Zero Trust-related security software aligned with modern secure access and segmented network access principles, including identity-aware access and policy-based controls
  • Assist with implementation, operation, and maintenance of secure access solutions supporting users, devices, applications, and network services
  • Support integration of network security and access controls with enterprise identity, authentication, and endpoint systems
  • Support high-availability, resiliency, and operational assurance of network security platforms through testing, validation, monitoring, and documented procedures

Wireless & Collaboration Services
  • Support enterprise wireless networking services to ensure consistent, reliable connectivity across corporate environments
  • Assist with deployment, operation, and troubleshooting of wireless, voice, and video collaboration services
  • Support collaboration environments, including integration of conferencing systems with enterprise network and communications services

Lead Network Projects

  • Identify technical risks, dependencies, and constraints, escalating issues as appropriate

Documentation & Operational Support
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and operational references
  • Develop and maintain runbooks, procedures, and technical documentation to support operational consistency
  • Evaluate new technologies and approaches to improve network reliability, performance, and security

Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience
  • Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in network engineering or a closely related technical role

  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, and switching concepts
  • Experience working with network security technologies and secure access solutions
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences

Preferred Qualifications
