Job description

Challenger School's Sandy campus is seeking a music specialist.
This is a part-time position with a fixed schedule of 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays. Each day includes eight working hours and a one-hour lunch break, for a total of 16 working hours per week.
Responsibilities include lesson preparation and music instruction and may also include after-school enrichment activities and student lunchtime supervision.
Candidates seeking full-time employment may also be considered for a teacher-intern assignment. The full-time assignment would include preparation to assume music specialist duties quickly, along with training in Challenger's preschool or elementary program.
The successful candidate will have a strong music background, enjoy working with children, and be prepared to learn Challenger's curriculum and instructional methods. As a music teacher at Challenger, you will be responsible for teaching children music concepts, such as rhythm, singing, recognition, interpretation, movement and dance. You will have the opportunity to work with multiple grade levels and will also plan and direct the music for the annual Christmas Sing and Spring Program events.
