Job Title: Video Production Specialist

Term: Full-time, Permanent (40 hours/week)

Position Overview

The Video Production Specialist will be a key creative contributor to the marketing initiatives of International Business University (IBU) and Vega Academic Services Inc. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, this role is responsible for producing high-quality video content from concept to completion. This includes capturing footage, editing, enhancing visuals, and optimizing videos for various platforms—all while ensuring consistency with the university's brand and messaging. The ideal candidate will work closely with the marketing team and content creators to craft compelling, story-driven video content that resonates with prospective students, current learners, faculty, and broader audiences.

Key Responsible Areas

  • Plan, shoot, and edit professional video content for marketing, social media, events, internal communications, and educational purposes.
  • Manage end-to-end video production, including storyboarding, scripting, filming, lighting, audio, and editing.
  • Edit and enhance footage with color correction, sound design, motion graphics, animations, and visual effects.
  • Create short-form content optimized for YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and other platforms.
  • Collaborate with marketing, design, and content teams on creative concepts and visual storytelling.
  • Ensure videos are optimized for different platforms while maintaining brand consistency and production quality.
  • Organize and maintain video assets and archives.
  • Stay current with video production trends, technologies, and editing techniques.
  • Provide occasional support for live streaming and real-time editing.
  • Assist with photography, graphic design, and other related duties as needed.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Film Production, Media Studies, Digital Marketing, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional videography and video editing experience, preferably in marketing or education.
  • Proficiency with DSLR/mirrorless cameras, lighting, audio equipment, and field production.
  • Strong understanding of visual composition, lighting, framing, and storytelling.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects; experience with Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar tools is an asset.
  • Experience with color grading, sound design, motion graphics, and visual effects.
  • Strong understanding of social media video formats and platform optimization.
  • Creative, detail-oriented, and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with live streaming, VR/AR, or 360-degree video is an asset.
  • Photography and basic graphic design skills are considered assets.
  • Portfolio showcasing videography and video editing work is required.

This position is based in a hybrid work arrangement, with employees working on-site four (4) days per week and the option to work remotely one (1) day per week, based on business needs.
