Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor security alerts, investigate suspicious activity, and escalate issues to senior team members when needed.
  • Assist with phishing response, security awareness activities, and end-user guidance on secure practices.
  • Support incident triage, evidence collection, documentation, and post-incident follow-up under the guidance of senior cybersecurity personnel.
  • Help administer and support endpoint security tools, multi-factor authentication, VPN access, email security, and other foundational security controls.
  • Contribute to compliance and audit-readiness efforts related to CMMC, NIST SP 800-171, DFARS, ITAR, and the protection of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
  • Maintain accurate documentation, support security projects, and collaborate across teams to improve the organization’s overall security posture.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity principles, common threats, security controls, and incident response concepts.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Windows environments, endpoint protection, and general enterprise IT operations.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, document work accurately, and collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Interest in learning security operations, compliance requirements, and best practices in a regulated defense or aerospace environment.

Basic Qualifications

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in cybersecurity, systems administration, network administration, IT support, or a related technical role.
  • Basic understanding of security tools, user access administration, endpoint protection, log review, or vulnerability remediation concepts.
  • Willingness and ability to learn defense and aerospace cybersecurity requirements, including CMMC/NIST SP 800-171, DFARS, ITAR, and CUI handling practices.

 

Preferred Qualifications and Certifications

  • Exposure to compliance frameworks such as CMMC and NIST SP 800-171 is a plus.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, aerospace, defense, or other regulated environment is preferred.
  • Preferred certifications include CompTIA Security+ and ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC); Microsoft Security Operations Analyst Associate (SC-200) may be beneficial for candidates with relevant experience.

 

Location / Compensation: Seattle, Houston, Phoenix, Los Angeles, or Springfield, MA

Salary Range: $72,000 - $88,000 

10% Performance Bonus: Management Incentive Plan
