Job description

Overview
The Auburn University Bookstore is excited to recruit Apparel and Merchandise Assistants! This position will assist the clothing and buyer team with various tasks throughout the store.
Responsibilities
  • Create displays and merchandise the sales floor with products that tell the Auburn story.
  • Coordinate with the marketing department to ensure merchandise is promoted effectively.
  • Stay apprised of current trends to influence merchandise assortment and product display.
  • Organize and maintain products in the stockroom efficiently.
  • Provide customer service on our sales floor, including answering questions about products and helping customers locate items in the store based on their needs.
  • Engage, listen, and ask questions to understand the customer's wants/needs.
  • Walk the sales floor regularly to monitor for loss prevention and ensure the sales floor and merchandise are clean and in order.
  • Process merchandise and move it onto the sales floor in a timely manner after it has been received.
  • Ensure merchandise is tagged correctly, scans at the right price, is free of damages, and has been brought to web orders to be put on the website.
