ABOUT THE ROLE 
The Procurement Summer Student, you will support and execute the operational and tactical procurement of goods and services within Western Canada. You will work closely with the Warehouse Supervisor and Procurement Manager and local business teams to assist with the operational procurement of local goods and services. You will develop your technical and professional skills while expanding your professional network.
This role will support the Procurement team with SAP system entry and management, inventory, procurement of goods and services, generating RFQ and PO requirements. 


WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Support and execute the procurement of goods and services in accordance with category strategies, as well as applicable policies, procedures, and specifications.
  • Support market procurement manager.
  • Contract  and inventory management. Assisting onsite with inventory control and management, with the team.
  • Generate RFQ's in accordance with procurement policy in collaboration with operations and other stakeholders.
  • Co-ordinate with the business and shared service center to resolve P2P issues as they occur and perform root cause analysis to ensure that best practices are captured and shared amongst team.
  • Maintain the integrity of spend classification and other PO requirements.
  • Conduct cement warehouse inventory counts.
  • Manage procurement documents in Google Drive, especially savvy with Google Sheet or Excel - a must!
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Education: High school diploma or equivalent 
Additional Requirements: 

  • Be 18 years of age or older.
  • Be enrolled in a post-secondary institution for September 2026.
  • Be available for full-time work from June to August.
  • Comfortable operating a computer and all Google/Microsoft programs, especially Excel.
  • Must participate in pre-hiring background checks.
  • Able to commit to the work period of June - August, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. onsite.
  • Comfortable working in an industrial environment and health and safety requirements.
  • Bonus if you have: Any experience or current study in business/supply chain management.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
