Overview
Responsible for supporting and communication of PMC (Product Manufacturing Co.) and WASI (Wichita Aerospace Spares) quality standards and guidelines. This position reports to the VP of Quality and is responsible for the accuracy and quality of products and documentation shipping from the PMC and WASI facilities, and must be a leader in the development and implementation of world-class quality systems and standards by performing the following duties.

  • Manages and directs quality area functions ensuring product compliance from all aspects of manufacturing.
  • Monitors and audits PMC and WASI shop order documentation for compliance to quality standards described in PMC and WASI quality manual.
  • Monitors and maintains NCR (non-conformance rejection) system, tracks trends, and communicates these trends with management team of PMC and WASI.
  • Ensures PMC and WASI is prepared for any audits, internal or customer, at any given time through internal audits, documented training, and reliable quality management systems.
  • Establishes criteria for all company departments ensuring reliable quality management systems are in place.
  • Monitors, tracks, and improves customer quality perceptions of PMC and WASI.
  • Monitors and tracks supplier quality and systems for acceptance to PMC and WASI.
  • Promotes, trains, and supports all personnel of PMC and WASI in the task and focus of achieving world-class quality status.
  • Audits internally all systems and areas for compliance to AS9100 specifications.
  • Provides consistent feedback to personnel you manage concerning job performance as well as annual documented performance reviews.
  • Attends and participates in weekly management meetings.
  • Flows down relevant management meeting information to department being managed.
  • Provides resolution of non-conformances related to area and completes any cause and corrective actions related to area.
  • Acts as a key member to management team.
  • Demonstrates the authority to communicate a need to stop any production order for quality concerns.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manages subordinate supervisors who supervise a varied number of employees. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university in quality management systems or equivalent experience; or five years related experience and/or training in aerospace manufacturing quality environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities:
  • Efficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiar with statistical process control methods, techniques, and implementation
  • Working knowledge of MRP systems
  • Team oriented
  • Detail oriented with meticulous work habits
