DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS


OVERVIEW: The Director of Operations (DO) is responsible for the overall management and operational control of the Company's flight operations. The DO ensures all operations are conducted in compliance with 14 CFR, the Company's Operations Specifications, General Operations Manual, and all applicable company policies and procedures. The Director of Operations is responsible to ensure the safety and regulatory compliance of all flight operations.



RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining operational safety standards and ensuring all flight operations comply with applicable FAA and DOT requirements
  • Responsible for ensuring effective Operational Control to be maintained for all flight operations
  • Oversee, distribute, and maintain company manuals, procedures, revisions, and any necessary information
  • Direct supervision of crew, dispatch, and administrative functions and staffing
  • Ensure all required training, checking, qualification, and pilot records are maintained in accordance with FAA regulations and company policies
  • Responsible for communicating and coordinating with other departments to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient flight operations
  • Responsible for developing and managing the Flight Operations budget while maintaining operational efficiency and regulatory compliance
  • Any other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must hold an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate with appropriate aircraft category and class ratings
  • Operational experience in Boeing 737 aircraft and previous experience in B737 Classic freighter operations preferred
  • At least five (5) years supervisory or managerial experience
  • At least five (5) years experience as PIC of an aircraft operated under part 121, 125, or 135
  • Effective communication, both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Team-oriented, creates an inclusive and motivating work environment
  • Ability to build and lead high-performing operational teams
  • Action-oriented, seizes opportunities to make quick and efficient decisions
  • Bachelor's Degree in Aviation, Business, or related field preferred, but not required
  • Previous Director of Operations, Chief Pilot, Assistant Director of Operations, or equivalent operational leadership experience with an FAA Part 121, 125, or 135 operator strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience working directly with FAA Certificate Management Teams
  • Experience preparing for and successfully completing FAA inspections and audits
  • Experience with international operations
  • Must be willing to relocate
