Job Summary: The Assistant Manager will assist the Store Manager in overseeing the daily operations of a convenience store. This includes managing store staff, ensuring inventory levels are adequate, maintaining store cleanliness and organization, and delivering exceptional customer service. The Assistant Manager will step in for the Store Manager in their absence, ensuring smooth store operations and contributing to the overall success of the store.
Key Responsibilities:
  • 1. Staff Supervision and Training:
    • Supervise and lead store employees.
    • Provide training to new employees, ensuring they understand company policies, procedures, and customer service expectations.
  • 2. Customer Service:
    • Ensure a high level of customer service, addressing customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally.
    • Maintain a welcoming and friendly store atmosphere for customers.
    • Assist customers with locating products, making purchases, and checking out.
  • 3. Inventory Management:
    • Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering merchandise to maintain stock.
    • Organize inventory displays and ensure the store is well-stocked with popular items.
    • Perform regular inventory checks and assist in stock audits.
    • Ensure proper rotation of products to minimize spoilage and waste.
  • 4. Store Operations:
    • Assist in opening and closing the store, ensuring all security and operational protocols are followed.
    • Oversee store cleanliness, including floors, shelves, restrooms, and exterior areas.
    • Monitor store safety and security procedures, addressing any potential hazards.

  • 6. Store Maintenance:
    • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the store, including aisles, shelves, checkout areas pumps, parking lot and restrooms.
    • Ensure the store environment is welcoming and safe for customers.
  • 7. Compliance and Regulations:
    • Ensure that the store is in compliance with health, safety, and labor regulations.
    • Ensure that employees are following all company policies and procedures.
    • Maintain knowledge of store policies and ensure proper implementation.
  • 8. Problem-Solving and Conflict Resolution:
    • Address employee or customer conflicts in a timely and effective manner.
    • Take ownership of customer complaints and resolve them to satisfaction.
    • Handle operational problems, from product shortages to equipment malfunctions.
