Job Summary
The Maintenance Assistant assists with the general maintenance of the property, internally and externally, with the guest experience in mind. This position may interact with the guest regularly and must be personable, professional and courteous at all times.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Maintenance Assistant's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Complete Preventative Maintenance (PM) Program on a timely basis, by reviewing the PM checklist for each hotel room and performing tasks to return the room to "like new" status.
  • Ensure Preventative Maintenance repairs are done on lighting, electrical circuits and wiring, plumbing, HVAC, guest room walls, appliances, doors and locks, furniture, carpet stains, and floor coverings.
  • Practice safe work habits such as proper lifting, use of ladders and safe chemical handling.
  • Check the log at the front desk every morning for maintenance issues that need immediate attention.
  • Respond to guest concerns if requested by guest services or directly by the guest.
  • Clear trash and empty trash containers daily.
  • Sweep and clean sidewalks and internal and external stairs as needed.
  • Clear debris from parking lot, landscaping, and dumpster area daily.
  • Ensure that exterior building and grounds are clean by use of a pressure washer and blower.
  • Paint walls, ceilings, doors, and window trim as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized maintenance workshop and storeroom.
  • Complete duties and confirm on daily checklist as assigned.
  • Various other duties assigned by Supervisor.

Requirements
  • Must have excellent customer service skills with guests and co-workers
  • Hotel must determine prior to job offer if the individual hired will drive for company. If so, employee must have a reliable insured vehicle and a satisfactory driving record.
