Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
Position is responsible for purchasing and evaluating repair parts along with maintaining close relationships with vendors to continuously improve and lower company costs. This position also requires a large concentration of time performing research and development for the department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. PM System in SAP - oversee inputting of machinery, creation of PM schedules, etc.
  2. Research and Development of parts and equipment
  3. Maintain maintenance crib
  4. Work closely with vendors to purchase best quality parts at the best price
  5. Maintain keys and security records
  6. File and maintain Maintenance PM records.
  7. Maintain database for the "Asset Management Program"
  8. Assist the Maintenance Manager with the scheduling of the "Top Ten List".
  9. Help chart the Maintenance measurables for BOS.
  10. Assist the Maintenance Manager lead the Maintenance and Set-Up teams with Lean principles, Quick Change Technology, Total Predictive Maintenance, Cell Design, and 5 S.
  11. Employee must perform his/her job within acceptable safety, environmental, quality, productivity and performance standards as outlined in plant policies, handbooks and applicable work instructions.
  12. Overtime as required/requested.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Asset Management (Asset tracking and record keeping)
  2. Maintain records for standardization of parts
  3. Help maintain maintenance library (manuals/prints)

CRITICAL SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Preferred 2-year technical degree
  • Minimum of 5 years maintenance experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of OSHA guidelines
  • Must be able to troubleshoot machinery
  • Must have proficient blueprint reading skills
  • Must be able to read electrical schematics
  • Must be able to read hydraulic prints

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Office environment - includes, but not limited to, artificial lighting, computers, telephones, desks, temperature controlled.
  • Manufacturing environment - includes, but not limited to, artificial lighting, machine/equipment noise, some welding exhaust, non-controlled temperatures, and PPE required.
  • Some travel which could include an overnight stay.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Ability to sit frequently for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to move about the plant in both the office and manufacturing areas.
  • Ability to travel occasionally.
  • Manual dexterity for computer work.
  • Ability to communicate in an effective manner.
  • Must be able to lift 75-100 lbs.
