Job title: Baker’s Assistant

Reports to: Baker, sous chef, banquet chef, executive chef

Pay rate: $18.00 to $19.00 DOE

Position type: Variable hours – health benefits after 1 year and 1456 hours worked.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Two years baking experience.
  • Enthusiastic about preparing and baking food.
  • Able to begin shift in early morning, as early as 4am when necessary.
  • Working with the prep cooks, line cooks and banquet team while maintaining a lever of professionalism.
  • Good listening, and written and English verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle deadlines and maintain composure under stress.
  • A current Food Handler's permit is required within 14 days of hire.
  • Self-motivated: can find work to do without constant supervision.
  • Able to maintain a positive mental attitude.
  • Detail oriented is a must.

Physical Requirements:

  • Constant standing and walking.
  • Occasional pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, lifting and stooping, stair climbing.
  • Able to safely lift 50 pounds.


Essential Functions:

  • Properly bake and prepare products. Follow written production area guidelines for quality, value, service and cleanliness.
  • Know how to rotate, prepare, and store food.
  • Properly handle storage and movement of product to work area.

  • Communicate to the Chef when you need supplies for baking projects.
  • Check stock to ensure an adequate supply based on projected volume. Always check with your immediate supervisor to ensure accuracy of stock levels.
  • Clean as you go. Maintain cleanliness of counters, appliances and equipment.
  • Arrive on time and be ready to work when your shift begins.
  • Wear a clean uniform and maintain a clean, well-groomed, neat appearance.
  • Ask for help when you need it.
  • Act as a role model for employees at all time. Follow written job standards.
  • Help control waste, labor and food costs.
  • Identify problems and recommend solutions to the supervisor.
  • Be knowledgeable about Campbell's services and history and Lake Chelan recreational opportunities to answer guests' questions.

We are searching for skilled, creative Bakers who strive to provide excellent baked items and service in an efficient and professional manner. The Baker will design, execute, and improve recipes, perform quality checks on ingredients, and finished products, use icing, glazes, fillings, and decorations to enhance item presentation and process orders from customers.


Work Environment:

The work environment can be loud and busy. There are many kitchen hazards such as hot surfaces and liquids, sharp knives, and slippery floors.


Physical Demands:

The employee is required to stand for long periods as well as walk, bend and stoop. The position requires working taste buds, ability to smell, feel with fingers, and visually inspect, including close and distance vision. The position requires ability to use arms, hands and manipulate fingers to reach, stir, measure, pour, cut, chop, dice, decorate, etc.


Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a variable-hour position, expected work hours are based on seasonal volume, business demand, and hours of operation. Weekends and holidays are also necessary. Must be flexible and willing to adapt schedule to meet business demands.
