Operations Assistant Manager (F&B specialty)

Bear Country, Inc. owns Jellystone Park™ in Caledonia Camp-Resort, Bear Paw Adventure Park, The Ember Lodge, and the Northern Lights Drone Shows. BASIC PURPOSE: This position will be in the Operations Department but will oversee the Food and Beverage operations. The duties of this position include managing the staffing and operations of two quick service kitchens, a concession trailer, and event space. Plan and manage the food outlets and staff in order to achieve customer satisfaction, quality service, compliance with company/franchise policies and procedures and federal, state and local regulations, while meeting/exceeding financial goals. Mentor and train staff to further their skills and careers. Also be available to help with other Operations aspects in Bear Paw Adventure Park including our Ropes course and Bear Paw Beach. This position will occasionally take Manager on Duty shifts while performing regular duties.

ORGANIZATIONAL SCOPE: Position is responsible for the short-term planning and daily operations of our 2 food outlets, concession trailer, and event space. Recommends promotional ideas and procedural changes. Helps lead others to increase their scope of knowledge and take next step in their career development.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Specific duties to be performed include:

  • Leading the team during peak business hours
  • Scheduling staff for F&B operations including events
  • Doing timecards and helping prepare for payroll every 2 weeks
  • Maintaining operating checklists
  • Assisting with special events
  • Opening and/or closing duties for Bear Paw Adventure Park (cross functional with other departments)
  • Cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment
  • Training and supervision of seasonal team members

We are a service-based organization and expect our leaders to lead by example with taking care of our guests. Our goal is to create memories that guests will want to repeat for everyone that comes to, does business with, and works at Jellystone in Caledonia.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years experience in operations (ideallly with a food background)
  • Understanding of pace and productivity as well as monthly forecasting and the annual budget process.
  • Creatively setting up menus, food displays, and physical outlet atmospheres.
  • Artistic eye for presentation and displays in F&B areas.
  • Positive track record of training and developing staff to succeed, move forward to next step in development, and inspire to go above and beyond
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to positively motivate and communicate with staff
  • Ability to work weekends and evenings.
