Job description

Taylor House is a brand new upscale casual restaurant coming to the Walking Mall of Old Town Winchester.  We have a beautiful historic location central to the pedestrian mall with a fully renovated dining room and bar.  We will focus on exceptional service for our guests and craft cocktails while cultivating a warm and welcoming environment.  We are seeking team members that have a desire to create something to be proud about.  The owners of Taylor House have owned and operated restaurants for nearly 10 years.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a line cook or in a professional kitchen environment is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of basic cooking techniques, knife skills, food preparation, and proper sanitation practices.
  • Ability to follow recipes, plating standards, and direction from the kitchen leadership.
  • Pride in consistency, attention to detail, and producing high-quality food.
  • Ability to work efficiently and remain calm in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • A willingness to learn, grow, and develop alongside a new restaurant and kitchen team.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Food Safety Certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification within the required timeframe.

  • Assist with receiving, storing, rotating, and properly handling food products.
  • Minimize waste and use ingredients responsibly.
  • Complete all assigned opening and closing responsibilities.
  • Communicate effectively with fellow cooks and front-of-house team members to ensure smooth and efficient service.
  • Contribute to a positive, respectful, and collaborative kitchen culture.
  • Take pride in helping build something special from the ground up at Taylor House.
