Position Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing, packaging, and facility equipment to support safe, efficient, and uninterrupted production operations. This role performs preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and process equipment while ensuring compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality standards.

The Maintenance Technician partners closely with Operations, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to maximize equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing, packaging, and facility equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and process control systems to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Diagnose equipment failures, determine root cause, and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Maintain production equipment including pumps, piping systems, valves, mixers, filling equipment, packaging machinery, conveyors, and related manufacturing systems.
  • Complete scheduled preventive maintenance activities while maintaining accurate maintenance documentation.
  • Install, modify, and assist with commissioning new equipment and manufacturing systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and equipment manuals.
  • Order replacement parts and maintain accurate inventory records in accordance with company procedures.
  • Partner with Operations to prioritize maintenance activities and communicate equipment status throughout the workday.
  • Perform facility maintenance including lighting, plumbing, HVAC support, compressed air systems, and general building repairs as needed.
  • Assist with equipment improvements that enhance safety, quality, reliability, and operational efficiency.
  • Train production personnel on basic equipment operation and routine maintenance practices.
  • Coordinate and support outside contractors performing maintenance or repair work.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Safely operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and other mobile equipment after obtaining required certifications.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance situations as required.
  • Assist other maintenance technicians and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Strong troubleshooting skills involving mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and process equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Working knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment and basic electrical troubleshooting preferred.
  • Experience using machine shop equipment including welders, drill presses, grinders, saws, lathes, and milling machines.
  • Strong understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
  • Ability to diagnose equipment failures independently and develop effective repair solutions.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and maintenance management software.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
