Job description

After School Care (ASC) provides after school supervision for Punahou students in Kindergarten - grade 5 in a safe and nurturing environment. Punahou School is seeking After School Care Assistant Leaders who, under the direction of the ASC Leaders, are responsible for the supervision of students in their designated grade level and supporting ASC Leaders to provide a safe, nurturing and enriching environment for children in grades K-5. Primary duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Assists ASC Leaders with planning and implementing activities that reflect the vision and mission of the ASC program and grade level theme.
  • Assists with leading students through various activities.
  • Creates a safe, engaging and supportive atmosphere for students.
  • Handles day to day operations.


Position Details:

  • Work Year: 9 Months
  • School Year: 2026-2027
  • Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 2:15 PM - 5:30 PM, Schedule may vary based on operational needs
  • Hourly Rate: $18.00/Hour


Minimum Qualifications:

  • According to the Hawaii Administrative Rules (HAR) 17-896-1, candidates:
    • Shall be at least 18 years of age;
    • Shall always be under the direction of a program leader;
    • Shall attend Orientation training provided by the facility.
  • One (1) year of experience working with school-aged children preferred.
  • Administrative experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the development stages of children, including the principles and practices related to youth development preferred.
